Houston Back on Track Encourages Job and Personal Growth Alongside Partners

Today is National Encouragement Day, and Houston Back on Track encourages you to explore the journey of building a new career and future. Houston Back on Track, the job recovery initiative of the Greater Houston Partnership, brings together community and career resources to give all Houstonians the confidence and tools to begin their journey toward a rewarding career.

Whether you're looking to learn professional skills, transition careers or just eager to learn something new, Houston Back on Track has the resources to set you up for success. Our community partners offer a variety of support, from basic skills training to resume development, ESL classes and educational resources.  

Among our list of community partners is the Houston Area Urban League. HAUL empowers marginalized communities, specifically the Black Houston community, to learn financial literacy, explore emerging industries and know their rights in the workplace. Starting with basic skills training, HAUL teaches essential skills such as resume development, practical communication and presentation skills.Participants are then engaged in core skills training before being introduced to HAUL's Workforce Occupational Skills Core Program, which provides tools to prepare for success in emerging and high-growth industries.  

WorkFaith is another community partner encouraging Houston Back on Track participants to take advantage of the training opportunities they offer. The WorkFaithOn-Demand IMPACT program teaches soft skills like problem-solving, adaptability, conflict resolution and teamwork. Extended programs such as career coaching and interview training to help participants get ready for their job search. Spanish speakers who may believe language is a barrier to their career journey can take the IMPACT Certification Program in Spanish.
